This load-balancing router supports up to 8 WAN ports with plenty of options to tune up your internetworking environment at a very reasonable cost. It can also be used in bridging modes.

This does exactly what it claims to do, and does it well. I have two internet connections, and this lets me use the combined bandwidth reliably.

We subscribed to another ISP and purchased the SW24 so that we would have failover if our primary ISP went down. Setting up the SW24 and getting the basic network up & running only took a few minutes.

Strengths: StableFastExcellent Tech support!
Weaknesses: None for the price of this product and for the functions it preforms.
Summary: The product works as you expect it to. I had called the support tech a couple times when initially setting up the unit. They were fast to answer the call and extremely helpful.

The Syswan Octolinks SW88 is an excellent product at a very good price point for performingload balancing across multiple bandwidth WAN circuits from either the same or different circuit providers. Our company, Spot On Networks, installs residential wi-fi networks in apartment and condominium complexes.

Works well and as advertised. Great for an environment were different solutions need to work together. We needed the reliability of a T1, but the bandwidth is not enough for our 100 users. We don't have much cash, so we bought this and a dsl line. After a couple hours of preparation, and a few tense hours of installation and troubleshooting in our live environment, I got it installed and working perfectly. Now, all mail traffic goes through our T1, and our multiple IP addresses are NAT-mapped securely to their proper internal IPs. Users get faster Internet through custom configured load balancing. Everyone's happy. And if the DSL goes down, the T1 takes over all the traffic automatically. Oh, and my DSL line is setup with DDNS. Perfect.

I can't say enough about how great this unit is, or how great the company behind it is. I have been through thousands of dollars worth of networking hardware over the years, and have a junk box full of rejects to prove it. This is the first router to fully meet my needs and prove to be rock solid reliable. I am using this unit with a cable connection and a dsl connection. Behind it is an Apple Xserve, a PBX running PIAF, an Ubuntu Linux Server, a video surveillance system, a Windows 2008 server, and a VERY busy home network. This unit loafs along, with both CPU and memory utilization generally under 20% - usually less than 10%. The balancing feature works well, but you may want to experiment with the settings to get optimal performance. For me, going to packet based balancing seemed to work best. Support is excellent, and my communication with Syswan leads me to believe that they are dedicated to providing a world class product with support to match at a modest price.

I expected a little work to get going, but their email support took care of the things I was stuck on. I would recommend this, especially if you are comfortable with tinkering with network stuff. Allow a few hours to get it working and possibly a few more days to get the kinks worked out.

This router allows you to hook up EIGHT incoming ISP lines. YES, EIGHT. T-1, DSL, Cable, whatever. As long as you have an ethernet 10/100 connection to its interface, you can connect to it. When I installed this we had two DSL lines. We then added a cable carrier, a second DSL carrier and a Wi-Max carrier.

Multiple Internet Connections with Load Balancing and Failover- works great, internet runs much much faster than the load balancing on the rv082. Also feels more stable.
1. User interface is simple and straigtforward for a moderately skilled i.t. person.
2. Tech support actually knows how to fix the product when you have an issue, even remoted in to assist with configuration- remote access is easy to enable and disable.
3. Unit works very very well, internet is stable and fast, load balancing is much better than on the rv082 it replaced.
4. Multiple wan ports- configurable up to 8 ports.
Would definately reccomend

Exactly as advertised! The load balancing and fail over WAN switching works perfect so far. I've spent a couple nights playing around with it and found almost no interuption during a switch over. Currently using Bright House cable modem and Embarq DSL.

This is a great load balancer. I've gone through two other load balancers and they just can't compare to the Syswan. With the other two routers during LAN parties I would always have to disable load balancing in order to allow everyone to stay connected to steam. With the Syswan it has not been an issue. The Syswan also intelligently handles load balancing secure connections, so there haven't been any more timeouts going to CC and banking sites. Have been very happy with this upgrade.

Easy to use and fairly easy to setup (took me a dedicated night to get it going). To be clear, dual WAN routers will not increase your connection speeds. They are about enhancing reliability and increasing throughput to mulitple systems. That said, this is a solid product.

I would like to take a moment to say THANK YOU for putting out a great product that works at an affordable price!
I've been working on a project that really needed a solid device capable of failover. I have went through all kinds
of junk trying to get something that works. I finally found it-the Syswan SW24. It's an amazing little piece of equipment.
Please keep making this top-notch product at this level of cost and performance.

This equipment was basically used within a small office environment. No reboots or any fine tuning have been necessary after the first 2 weeks of operation so far. The performance has been steady after several GBs of data transfers and millions of connections, the load balancing have been functioning as you would expect...
